5 Common Construction Site Injuries And How A Lawyer In Queens Can Help

Construction sites may be characterized by a high level of risk since construction workers are exposed to different risks daily. However, with the help of safety standards many people still get injured and they have to pay for their medical treatment. Here are five construction site accidents and how hiring a Construction Accident Lawyer NYC can help victims seek justice and compensation.

1. Falls from Heights

It is one of the most recurrent events that cause accidents in the construction sites. Employees may suffer from falls through scaffolding, ladders and roofs or even while working from heights where employers failed to provide or use proper protective measures. Such incidents normally result in fractures, spinal cord injuries or even death. Queens construction accident lawyer can assist the injured worker when filing for compensation against the employer or any third to cater for his medical expenses, wages lost and other damages like pain and suffering.

2. Electrocutions

Work sites under construction regularly entail working with electricity, wiring, machines, and equipment. Electrocution is a possibility whenever the machinery is worn out or improper wiring is used, or when staff has not been adequately trained. Such can lead to injury that may cause burns, nerve damage to more severe cases of death.

3. Struck by Falling Objects

Infantino and Aadland note that construction workers can easily be knocked down by falling tools, debris or other construction materials. They may also produce traumatic brain injuries, concussion or fractures for example. Employers are bound by law to ensure that things such as hard hats and proper storage of tools and other material are used. If these measures are neglected, a Construction Accident Lawyer NYC will assist the victim’s party to enhance their chances of filing a lawsuit with a reasonable chance of compensation.

4. Machinery Accidents

Equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, and forklifts are very common in construction areas, their use however can be a major cause of danger if not control or maintained. Machinery injuries cause multiple injuries of high severity which include squashed or crushed limbs, amputations and cutting injuries. An attorney can guide clients on handling workers compensation disputes and other possibilities including filing a civil lawsuit against manufacturers of equipment that was dangerous.

5. Slips and Trips

It is clear that slips and trips are among the leading causes of accidents on construction sites as a result of such factors as an irregular surface, wet floor, or misplaced tool. These accidents could include sprain, fractures or back injuries. The employees will be protected at work by ensuring that dangers are responded to effectively. This is because victims of such negligence can seek help from a Construction Accident Lawyer NYC who will help them to seek justice and compensation from the reckless people.
